Question: How is it possible to produce such a flat dyno?
Answer: It is possible, because we use a special drum which rotates very fast. This needs a huge ammount of energy. A big drum with more than 1 m in diameter is extremely expensive, but it rotates very slow and needs not very much more energy than our drum.
As you can see, the question for the “mass moment of inertia” makes no sense, because it depends on the speed. E=1/2mv² (Energy is half of the mass multiplicated with the velocity in square!) The T1 uses our patent two drum system. In the back of the T1 housing rotates a much bigger drum with a very high speed. So we reach the same mass moment of inertia like a 380 kg steel drum. |
